Before choosing a survey, ask to see an appropriate redacted example. The useful question is whether the report explains the building, the significance of its findings and what you should do next.
The elements of a useful report
Look for a clear description of the construction, significant defects, implications, recommendations and inspection limitations. Further-investigation advice should make clear what needs to be checked and by whom.
A sample is not a prediction
Every property and inspection is different. An example report helps explain presentation and scope; it does not show what will be found at the property you intend to buy.
